The last 30 minutes were fun and the special effects were top-notch, but the story was dumb, characters lacked depth or cohesion, but that wasn't the dumbest part.

There was no reason to fly that huge, pile of crap SHIELD ship in the air. It became the nonsense focus of the movie for no rational reason. What a waste of Iron Man's time and risk to his life, just to keep that hunk of junk flying. Why fly it at all?

The only cohesion the Avengers had was getting the many special effects companies to work together and provide seamless effects. If they only had a decent movie to spend their talents on, because you could really create a memorable experience.

I agree - no plot whatsoever, and no character development at all.

Nonsense wasting so much time, effort and lives flying that useless SHIELD ship all over the place. A disappointing movie to say the least, but the CG hulk was cool. Funny how they went to all the trouble to cage the hulk because he was unmanageable and at the end he stands around like a little kid waiting for someone to tell him what to do. Pathetic!
